Floor Heat is Cool

You deserve better

We guess you can do with a bit of floor heat during the cold winter months. If you are now wondering, “Floor heat! And who will dole out the huge amount for that?” then think again.

May be you have one of those regular radiators which sends out drafts of warm air. But is that a solution for real floor heat? We’ll say no! it is now time that you explore the option of an under floor heat system. The advantages are many. And for a few extra bucks you get the kind of floor heat that you really deserve.

Options you have

Underground floor heat generators are of three types: electric, air, and liquid. The electric systems can prove to be very expensive in parts of the country where the charges for electricity are steep. It works for only those who have cheaper electricity rates and even then they should make sure that they build up the heat during the hours when the rates are low.

Air heating systems have not been able to catch people’s imagination mostly because they cannot retain the floor heat over a long period of time. So its uses are limited and can be used in places that are comparatively warm.

The most successful under floor heat system has been the liquid one. Technically known as hydronic systems, they are compatible with any form of liquid, from oil to water. They are more cost effective compared to the electric floor heating system and the floor heat is also retained for a considerable period of time.

Go for one

So, if you really want to enjoy proper floor heat then you should opt for a radiant floor heating system. They do not cramp up your floor space, no ducts are visible that can ruin the décor of your room and it also keeps out dust and debris away as the air inside your room does not get circulated. In fact, even though the initial investment on the system is more, the overall cost over a period of time is less. The only pitfall is that you cannot use the same ducts for air conditioning as well. Otherwise, it makes every sense to go for an under floor heating system.
